Laura graduated with a BFA in Drama from NYU Tisch School of the Arts, and has worked primarily in lead roles in independent films.  She trained with Atlantic Theater Company and studied performance art and spoken word with Karen Finley.  She has participated in readings with The Women’s Project and New York Women in Film & Television. She plays the lead role in the feature film A TIME FOR THE HEART, Official Selection of 2010 San Diego Comic-Con.

Laura Hammer

Laura has produced several narrative, experimental and documentary shorts that have screened at festivals, BAMcinématek, and the legendary Two Boots Pioneer Theater.   Her cineaste duties at MUBI Garage include curating cutting-edge short films, promoting emerging filmmakers, and producing the Cinema 21 project.  While an undergrad at New York University, Laura focused on Interdisciplinary Studies and Web Design at Tisch ITP: Interactive Telecommunications Program.   She Co-Founded Trespa Films, LLC with fellow filmmaker Damian Calvo and produced their first feature film INDEPENDENTLY BLUE.
